Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Pure Wellness Group website: what it collects, which outside services it uses, and the choices you have. The last part explains your rights over the health information the clinic keeps about you.

In short

Who we are

Pure Wellness Group is an integrative medical clinic at 1933 Regent Street, Unit #10, Sudbury, ON P3E 5R2. In this policy, “we” means the clinic and “this site” means purewellnessgroup.ca.

This policy is about the website. The information you give your practitioner as a patient is personal health information, and it is handled under Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 (PHIPA). Your health information, below, explains what that means for you.

What this site collects

What you choose to send

• Your email address, if you sign up for the newsletter.
• Your first name and email address, if you join the Wild Collective waitlist.
• Anything you write in an email to us or tell us on the phone.

Regular email is not encrypted from end to end. If you would rather not put health details in an email, call the clinic at 705.586.7873.

What is collected automatically

• Visit statistics from Google Analytics, described in the next section.
• Server logs. Like most websites, this one runs on a server that records each request it receives, including the IP address, the browser and the page asked for.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: which pages are read, how people find them, and whether the booking links are working. It records:

• the pages you view and how long you spend on them
• the website or search that brought you here
• your type of device, browser and screen size
• your approximate location, to the city, which Google works out from your IP address
• clicks on a practitioner’s booking link, the online store, a partner practice, the phone number or the email address
• that a newsletter or waitlist sign-up happened, but not the address you entered

Some pages on this site are about health subjects, such as cancer care, fertility and hormone therapy, so a list of the pages someone viewed can say something personal about them. For that reason:

• Google signals and ad personalisation are turned off, so your visit is not tied to a signed-in Google account or used to build advertising audiences.
• We do not send your name, email address or any other detail that identifies you.
• Google says it uses your IP address to estimate your location and filter out spam, and then discards it. Read Google’s explanation.

Google may process this data outside Canada. To stop Google Analytics collecting your visits, block cookies for this site in your browser, or install Google’s opt-out add-on.

Newsletter and waitlist

The newsletter and waitlist forms send what you enter straight to Mailchimp, the email service the clinic uses. Mailchimp is owned by Intuit and keeps its data in the United States, so your email address, and your first name if you gave one, are stored there and are subject to US law. Intuit’s privacy statement explains how it handles them.

Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. You can also ask us to remove you by emailing reception@purewg.ca.

Maps and videos

The map on Contact Us and Book Appointments comes from Google Maps, and some pages show a YouTube video. Neither loads until you scroll near it, and on blog posts a video loads only when you press play. Videos play in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode.

Once a map or video loads, Google receives your IP address and browser details and may set its own cookies, under Google’s privacy policy.

Booking and other sites

Each practitioner’s booking link opens their online schedule in the clinic’s patient records system. What you enter there is held in that system, not on this website.

The online store is run by Fullscript, a separate company. Links to partner practices, social media and the share buttons on blog posts take you to other websites too. Nothing from those sites loads here until you click, and once you are there their own privacy policies apply.

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. This site’s own code sets none. These come from the services described above:

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. The site works without them.

Your health information

The practitioners who care for you at the clinic are health information custodians under PHIPA. That gives you the right to:

• ask to see and get a copy of your health records, with limited exceptions set out in the Act
• ask for a correction if you believe a record is inaccurate or incomplete
• make a complaint to the clinic, and to the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario

If this site starts using a new service that collects information, this page will be updated first and the date at the top will change.
